PTFE Granular Polymers

Fluon® granular polytetrafluoroethylene ( PTFE ) polymers are fabricated
by moulding and ram extrusion. Fine powders are suitable for
applications requiring the very best mechanical or electrical properties.
Agglomerated, free-flowing powders are suitable for general, automatic
or isostatic moulding and extrusion of large sections.

Applications include:
• Aerospace industry
• Slide bearing and valve components
• Machined, auto and isostatically moulded parts
• Gaskets & diaphragms in chemical process plant

PTFE Coagulated Dispersions

Fluon® CD polymers are white free flowing powders made by coagulating aqueous dispersions of polytetrafluoroethylene ( PTFE ).

They have been developed for paste extrusion into tapes, tubes, pipe liners and coated wire.

Applications include:
• Aerospace industry
• Automotive industry (incl. fuel hose)
• Coated wire
• Textile membranes

PTFE Aqueous Dispersions

Fluon® AD polymers are aqueous dispersions of polytetrafluoroethylene ( PTFE ). They have been developed for coating metal and glasscloth, coagulation with pigments or fillers and impregnation.

AGC Chemicals Europe has other newly-developed dispersion grades available. The full range of AD polymers will be APFO-free by 2010.

Applications include:
• Circuit boards
• Roofing structures
• Coated cookware
• Glasscloth

PTFE Lubricant Polymers

Fluon® lubricant polymers are manufactured from virgin polytetrafluoroethylene ( PTFE ) feedstock and have been developed for use as both dry lubricants and as additives in other materials such as plastics, inks, oils and greases. These polymers improve wear resistance and enhance lubricity, non-stick and frictional characteristics of the host media.

Applications include:
• Computer component applications
• Ski wax
• Anti scuff agent for ink & paint
• Improved wear in automotive components
