AGC’s Sonja Mueller will be running this year’s Tough Mudder Yorkshire, one of the most challenging running events in the world. The 10 – 12 mile mud and obstacle course combines activities such as running, climbing, jumping, diving, swimming as well as crawling in mud. She is completing the event for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, which is dedicated to saving lives and improving outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer. They are in fact the leading funders of research into this disease. This year, as part of ‘The Biggest Fight Against Bone Cancer – Ever!’ the charity aims to raise £1.1million to fuel more research, more information, more awareness, more support and ultimately save more lives! Sonja’s personal aim is to raise £600, of which a third has been donated by AGC Chemicals Europe. Sonja Mueller, European Sales Co-ordinator
Sonja has been part of the commercial customer service department since 2013, quickly developing from a new starter into a vital member of the sales team. Her multi-lingual background allows her to provide an excellent customer experience to AGC’s German, French, Italian and Spanish customers. In the past she’s worked with the customer service team to successfully implement a new CRM software. Constantly seeking new challenges, Sonja is currently working to obtain a Diploma in Leadership and Management, an external training programme funded by the company.
Being an active runner, she has previously taken part in the Beaverbrooks 10k Fun Run 2015 in Blackpool together with 15 colleagues, in memory of a late colleague, supporting the Trinity Hospice where he had been treated before his passing. The team successfully raised over £2000. She has furthermore contributed in fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness UK, collecting more than £200. Sonja is currently in her final stages of her training with the Tough Mudder being just over a month away.
The event will take place on Saturday, 29 July 2017, in Skipton.
