On 15 July 2015 a new technical service centre for the European chemicals business was officially opened by Masao Nemoto, the president of AGC Chemicals. With a growing market in Europe & the Middle East this facility will improve the communication and response time to customers’ technical enquiries. With the existing commercial centre of AGC Chemicals Europe being in the World Trade Center in Amsterdam, the natural choice of location for the new technical centre was the nearby Amsterdam Science Park. The main focus of the new laboratory will be supporting both the fluorinated water and oil repellent, ‘AsahiGuard E-Series’ and the fluoropolymer resin for coatings, ‘Lumiflon’. Further products can expect technical support from the centre in the future. Management team members from AGC in Japan as well as the European-based project team responsible for setting up the technical centre as well as AGCCE’s senior management team also attended the event which was later celebrated with drinks and a Japanese themed evening buffet at the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam.
As the evening progressed Masao Nemoto, AGC Chemicals’ president, was invited by Master of Ceremonies, Yuji Narita, Commercial Director of AGC Chemicals Europe, to take the stage at the Okura Hotel.
